Wild Horse Picture Jasper Slab for Lapidary or Collection

$9.00

Details

From the Owyhee Mountain range, Wild Horse is not a true jasper.
Most picture rocks, this one included, are formed in sedimentary layers under extreme pressure.
A true jasper is crystalline in nature and forms in a semi-liquid state under extreme heat.

This ombre stone piece may look pitted in some areas but these are patterns within the rock itself.
The slab is smooth across its surface and has no texture despite how it looks!

Owyhee picture stones are very hard and easy to work with; they take a great polish.

The first two photos are taken while the slab is wet to simulate what it would look like polished.
The final photos are dry.
